I love your posts. I enjoy your comparison between paintings (art) and interior design.
Speaking of which I just got my DREAM JOB and I am currently employed as a graphic artist for a retail interior design firm!!!
It's about time. It took one year after I finished grad school in interior architecture and design.... but phew...I think it was worth the wait!

Oh, I love all the gorgeous blue and white. It always looks so crisp and clean and fresh. All of the pics are so pretty. I agree with you 100%! Against her families objections Mary Cassatt furthered her art education. Her family did not want her exposed to feminist ideas or bohemian behavior! Against all odds she was driven to become a professional artist, be independent and support herself financially. To get a sense of the time frame Mary attended college during the Civil War.
